Security is a core challenge facing healthcare today. As medicine becomes more data-centric, the security of that data moves to the forefront. Securing data is not only the right thing to do for doctors, hospitals and the healthcare system, but it is also necessary. Many nations have requirements in place to protect patients’ privacy, which increasingly includes patient data transported in bits and bytes around healthcare networks inside and increasingly outside of hospitals as patient care moves to remote settings.
