Deploying IoT initiatives can be a lot of work, but there are shortcuts. Enterprises are using many such technologies to speed and simplify support for mission-critical use cases, led by the adoption of off-the-shelf IoT platforms and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, according to 451 Research’s Internet of Things, Lightweight IoT 2022 survey. At the same time, the much-hyped no-code/low-code tools, which involve built-in functionality or add-on capabilities to let non-developers build IoT applications, show promise, but they are not yet widely adopted.
