Enterprises are anticipating a continued shift in the primary IT environments used for deploying and executing business workloads over the next several years. Workloads are projected to move away from legacy on-premises environments and toward a mix of modern environments, both on-premises and in the cloud, with an incremental shift toward off-premises venues over time. These placement decisions will frequently be driven by concerns about data privacy and operating cost. These trends are reflected in responses to our Digital Pulse, Workload Placement 2023 survey.
