Smart cities offer the promise of enhancing quality of life by collecting data on operations and services, identifying service gaps, and delivering more efficient lighting, traffic controls and transparency. This year, more than half (54%) of respondents to our Smart Cities 2023 survey say they are familiar with the concept of smart cities. That figure shows no change against last year's counts.
