As enterprise IoT deployments grow, these critical workloads are landing on infrastructure best characterized as heavily "as a service" and increasingly hybrid in approach, spanning and orchestrating across edge and more centralized venues, according to 451 Research's Internet of Things, Infrastructure 2023 survey. Those choices largely track to overall IT decisions, tilting even more aggressively in that direction since most IoT deployments lack the legacy infrastructure gravity and lift-and-shift challenges of long-standing IT workloads.
