Foldable screens not likely to be the next big thing

Over the last couple of years, several foldable screen smartphone models have been introduced by Samsung and other Android-based manufacturers. Adoption of this foldable form factor has been glacial, despite being the first true differentiator the smartphone market has seen in years. Simply put, this advance has not yet motivated large numbers of consumers to purchase one. While this may be true of many new innovations, brand loyalty within the smartphone market appears to play a role as Apple has yet to jump on this particular bandwagon.

This report presents the findings of 451 Research's Q4 2023 Digital Endpoint Tracker survey conducted at the beginning of the holiday shopping season, which asked US consumers about current smartphone ownership, customer satisfaction and planned purchases.
