Generative AI shifting from exploration to integrated capability

 

Generative AI has emerged as a pivotal investment focus for organizations. The majority of businesses are working to integrate the technology across their operations, with key investment areas including data generation, process automation and enhancing customer interaction. The scope of planned investments extends beyond text generation, encompassing image generation, structured data generation and code, among other modalities. However, 451 Research's AI & Machine Learning, Use Cases 2024 — a survey of 1,001 mid-level and senior IT and line-of-business professionals across North America and Europe — reveals that the rapid maturation of generative AI presents its own challenges. Security concerns, data privacy issues and cost considerations pose significant hurdles to organizations looking to adopt the technology. Moreover, the advent of generative AI has amplified long-standing concerns regarding AI in general.
