The overall trends in how consumers engage with wearable technologies have changed little year over year. Smartwatches, smart earbuds, smart headphones and fitness trackers remain the most-used device types, although there are clear differences in adoption among Generation Z, millennials and Generation X compared to their older counterparts. Household income also remains a key factor in device adoption. Apple Inc. remains a top performer in smartwatches and smart earbuds, while also snagging solid positioning within VR headsets after only about seven months on the market.
