Navigating the path to widespread EV and connected services adoption

In an era of digital transformation and growing awareness of environmental sustainability, electric vehicles (EVs) have emerged as a promising alternative to redefine the auto industry and drive new services and technology adoption. Compared with relatively lower adoption rates among all drivers, almost 86% of EV owners have subscribed to connected services and more than 50% show high interest in new charging technologies, including vehicle to the grid (V2G), wireless charging and battery swapping, according to our recent Endpoints & IoT, Mobility – Hybrid & Electric Cars 2023 survey. Low EV adoption volumes will likely remain a challenge for some years ahead, as only 2% of the total global vehicles on the road are plug-in hybrids and EVs as of 2023, but the market share is expected to reach 21% in 2030 according to the S&P Mobility charging infrastructure forecast.
