Security is consistently among the top inhibitors for enterprises aiming to deploy IoT projects, and those concerns are reflected in our Internet of Things, IoT & OT Security 2024 survey. Overall, more than half of enterprises say network security in IoT and OT environments is a current concern. Zero-trust policies, network microsegmentation, and IoT- and OT-specific firewalls are the most deployed solutions to address those concerns. While most respondents rate their IoT/OT security posture as mature — either managed or optimized — enterprises continue to fear attacks on their operational systems, particularly from criminal hackers stealing customer data. This report dives deeper into the survey results, and includes a comparison of responses in our current survey versus a year ago.
